Eisenhower
Apartment
In November 1945, General Eisenhower was
invited by the Kennedy family of Culzean to accept the tenancy
of a specially created guest flat on the top floor of the
Castle. General Eisenhower and members of his family stayed
here several times.
After his death, The National Trust for
Scotland and Scottish Heritage USA, a charitable corporation
that has provided valuable support to Culzean, opened the
apartment to a wider public. It is now a unique venue for
corporate and private hospitality and is also one of the
Trust’s flagship holiday properties.
Superbly furnished and extremely
comfortable, the Apartment has six double/twin bedrooms which
are available either as individual accommodation or for groups
of up to twelve. Guests share the drawing room and dining
room, where the best of Scottish food is served.

Prices are per night and are based on 2
adults sharing a double or twin bedded room and include
afternoon tea (served at 3.30pm), full Scottish breakfast,
complimentary pre-dinner drinks and VAT.

Special rates can be negotiated for
'Exclusive Use' of the entire Apartment for a family
occassion, group, or for corporate hospitality.
Credit card details are required as
guarantee of the booking. In the event of a cancellation with
less than 7 days notice the full accommodation cost will be
charged to the credit card. However, please request a copy of
our Booking Conditions for full details on our cancellation
policy and charges.
For bookings through agencies the
balance in full is required not less than ten days prior to
arrival.
Both Mastercard and Visa Card are
welcome.
There are no additional taxations or
service charges.
Guests are asked to arrive, if possible,
between 2.00pm and 5.00pm (when the Castle is open) and to
vacate their rooms no later than 11.00am on the morning of
departure.
The Eisenhower Apartment is situated on
the top floor of Culzean Castle, one of the most historic
Grade A listed buildings in Scotland and, consequently, it is
imperative guests are aware that smoking is not permitted
within the building. Pets are not permitted within the
Apartment, with the exception of Guide Dogs.
FOOD AND WINES
Dinner (3 courses) is available by a prior booking of at least
one week at an additional cost of £35.00, per guest, per
night, including VAT.

RECREATION
Culzean Castle stands in 600 acres of Ayrshire's finest
woodland and coastal walks.
Golf is the main leisure occupation in the area. Local courses
include Turnberry, Prestwick, Royal Troon and Western Gailes.
Details on other activities such as horse riding, clay pigeon
shooting, fishing and sailing can be provided.
